

The American Coal Council (ACC) has established the following Working Groups to support the marketplace and advocacy needs of the coal industry. Each Working Group has a specific objective and seeks to coordinate its efforts with other industry trade associations and/or government entities with complimentary goals. Working Groups are tasked with overseeing technical and economic studies, developing fact sheets and white papers, providing ACC conference program topic and speaker recommendations and organizing other project initiatives that support the Group's stated objectives.

The ACC Clean Coal Power Generation Working Group supports coal's continuing role as the largest source for electric power generation by virtue of its being an economic, abundant/secure and environmentally sound fuel source - for today and in the future.Activities:
The ACC Emerging Markets: Coal Conversion Working Group promotes enhanced energy security through accelerating the use of American coal for production of synthetic natural gas (SNG) and clean transportation fuels (coal-to-liquids CTL).Activities:
The ACC Coal Combustion Products (CCP) Working Group supports increased utilization of CCPs as an environmentally preferable resource, using CCP information to improve environmental perceptions of coal.Activities:
The ACC Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Working Group supports coal supplier and utility companies' efforts to enhance operational and financial accountability associated with coal sampling, analysis and weighing.Activities:
