On-again, off-again support for CTL shakes people's faith
Neither the coal industry or environmental groups can say for sure what Obama's next move on coal will be.
Everyone else is keen on coal-to-liquids (CTL)
While some politcians hem and haw over the value of a strong coal industry, many others are pushing forward. For example,
- NMA President, Kraig Naasz, published an unflinching editorial in USA Today advocating for CTL research.
- The National Research Council published a report calling for increased funding for research and development of our coal resource
- Senate Republican Leader, Mitch McConnell came out strongly in favor of the Bunning CTL amendment to the (then) pending Energy Bill

The PriceWatherhouseCoopers report "Mine" looks at the world's 40 largest mining companies and predicts many good things.
Rentech & Denbury to use CO2 in Enhanced Oil Recovery
Rentech has inked a deal to supply Denbury Resources with CO2 for enhanced oil recovery.
ABEC running new ads and publishes key report
The folks at Americans for Balanced Energy Choices have been busy. They recently set up a group of new ads to run on CNN and have also published a key report looking at the role of coal in moderating our energy prices.
