Wanted! 2009 BoD Candidates

Wanted! Candidates for 2009 ACC Board of Directors

Nominations are being accepted for the 2009 Board of Directors. Nominations must be received in the ACC office no later than 5:00 pm Eastern, Tuesday, September 9th, 2008.

The following positions are open:

  • Coal Suppliers
    • One 3-year term, expiring year-end 2011
  • Coal Consumers
    • One 3-year term, expiring year-end 2011
  • Energy Traders
    • One 3-year term, expiring year-end 2011
  • Transportation
    • One 3-year term, expiring year-end 2011
  • Coal Support Services
    • One 3-year term, expiring year-end 2011

Directors will be elected at the 2008 Annual Business Meeting to be held Wednesday, October 8th, 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. The ACC’s 2009 Board of Directors will begin serving their term on January 1st, 2009.

The 2009 Board of Directors has established the above-noted varied terms of service to effect an efficient rotation of Board members, provide for Board openings in all membership categories each year and ensure a Board composition that includes both new and experienced Board members. Board members are charged with overseeing the property, affairs, finances, activities and strategic direction of the ACC. The Board meets three-four times a year; two of these meetings are scheduled to coincide with the ACC’s Spring Coal Forum (March 2009-Tampa) and Coal Market Strategies Conference (October 2009-Las Vegas).
